Rise in number of young people taking Open University courses

There has been an unprecedented increase in the number of young people studying with the Open University. Figures show a 34% rise in 18 to 24-year-olds studying for a distance learning degree

The University publishes lectures on the internet and recently recorded 22.5m downloads in iTunes, according to the BBC Website. 70% of students work while studying, allowing them to earn while studying and freeing them of student debt. The University claims that it bolsters students’ employment chances.
