Your donations help education staff in more ways than you may be aware

of Recourse

I want to tell you about Sarah. At the beginning of 2010 Sarah was struggling. A lecturer for over 20 years she had been out of work for six months and had recently separated from her husband. Her weekly benefits income was less than £70 per week and she was unable to pay her utility bills.

Like many others before her, Sarah called Recourse for help.

Our trained advisors offered her emotional and financial support as well as advice. They suggested that Sarah apply for a one-off grant. On this occasion, we were able to give Sarah an emergency grant of £1500 to cover her outstanding bills.

I am pleased to say that Sarah has now found a job, but we are still continuing to work with Sarah, giving financial advice and life for Sarah is gradually returning to normal.

Recourse (formerly CUSN) has been providing grants for lecturers and people working in Higher and Further education for many years.

A donation from you today means we can continue to help more serving, unemployed and retired lecturers like Sarah who turn to us when no-one else can help. Requests for grants have never been higher and with your help we can restore dignity to more colleagues like Sarah.

A one-off donation of £25 (or any amount you can afford) will go directly to the grants fund and is guaranteed not be spent on overheads, but on helping other people like Sarah.

Please make your donation today by donating now!

Thank you on behalf of Sarah and everyone who has turned to Recourse for help.

Julian Stanley,
Chief Executive

PS. Please send us your donation as soon as possible so we can help people straight away.
